Wednesday, February 08, 2006The post you are reading is appropriately blogospheric. It is a post I am writing about a post I wrote about a post I wrote about a post by Tim Blair. About cartoons. And freedom. And tolerance. It's for one of my language sites, so it's much more balanced and thoughtful and openminded, etc, than the venom we spew here. Have a look at the TurkeyBlogger writing in a sober tone. If you're so inclined.

posted by gbarto at 10:23 PM Monday, February 06, 2006So, while the rest of the world's fussing over the other Muhammad Cartoons, I get an email about a cartoon of Muhammad - Ali - as an example of how the 200 Words a Day language course works. Here's the site. You can go to the main site if you want to try out their language learning software. In the email from the site, Kevin Crocombe writes: I spent a pleasant evening yesterday having drinks with two Norwegians, a Lebanese (called Mohammad) and a Jordanian, both devout Muslims, and we discussed the cartoons furore at length. One hopes those who claim the sincerest devotion to the faith will get the word. In the meantime, the sentiment ranks right up there with with Do unto others. Let's haul 'em both out and put 'em to good use.

Be sure to drop by his site for someone who opposes W and the neocon adventure (I support both) and yet manages some lucidity in the face of Islamofascism - more lucidity, in fact, than those who speak for Condi Rice's State Department.
